Wii Update Brings New Strong Bad, Old Space Invaders

  Strong Bad Episode 4 and Target Toss on WiiWare, with the VC getting Space Invaders and Forgotten Worlds.

  This week, Strong Bad proves itself to be one of the few episodic games that are actually sticking to an episodic schedule, with Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 arriving on WiiWare. Joining it is Target Toss Pro: Bags, with the SNES version of Space Invaders and Forgotten Worlds for the Genesis hitting the Virtual Console.
Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 (a title as convoluted as Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, with the distinction being this one's deliberately convoluted) continues Strong Bad's ongoing adventure, this time casting him as a dirty cop in his own "hand-crafted cinematic masterpiece." Like the prior episodes, Strong Bad Episode 4 will cost 1,000 Wii Points, or $10. Check out the trailer above for a look at what to expect from the new entry.

  Next is Target Toss Pro: Bags, with a title that's objectively horrible any way you slice it. "Bags" refers to beanbags, as the game is all about beanbag tossing, the nation's "hottest backyard and tailgate sensation." If this sensation is so hot that you've never even heard of it, the press release helpfully informs that it was created "in the Midwest in the 1960s and has since become a staple at outdoor social events from coast to coast." Evidently it's also known as "Cornhole" in some regions, because "beanbag tossing" wasn't fraught enough with juvenile implications.

  Oh yeah, there's actually a game here -- basically, you toss bean bags (using the Wii remote, we assume) and try to get them through a hole in a box. If that sounds like your idea of fun, you can get Target Toss Pro: Bags for 700 Wii Points ($7).

  Rounding out this week's update are two Virtual Console releases: Space Invaders for the Super Nintendo, and Forgotten Worlds for the Sega Genesis. Space Invaders should be familiar enough to anyone reading this, while Forgotten Worlds is a slightly more obscure side-scrolling shooter released in 1989, one of the first to incorporate 360-degree aiming. Both games will run you 800 Wii Points ($8).
